Diversity is one of our strengths, but communication problems can lead to unhappiness. So we have a few basic rules that we want people to obey.

This regulation applies equally to founders, mentors, seekers of help and guidance.

These rules are not a very detailed list that is intimidating. On the contrary, if you grasp the power within it, it is a guide that will make it easier for us to enrich all of us and the technical communities we participate in.

Be friendly and patient.

Be tolerant.

We strive to be a community that welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes any race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, color, immigration status, social and economic class, education level, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, size, family status, political thought, religion, mental and physical competence.

Be understanding.

Your work will be used by other people and will depend on the work of others. Every decision you make will affect your users and colleagues. You should consider these results when making decisions. Remember that we are a worldwide community, you may not be able to communicate with someone in your mother tongue.

Be respectful.

We won’t always agree, but disagreement is not an excuse for weak attitudes. We may all experience tension at any moment, but we cannot allow this tension to turn into a personal attack. It is important to remember that a community in which people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not productive. Members of the Hellospace community should be respected, among other things, to people outside the Hellospace community.

When we disagree, try to understand why.

There are disagreements on both the social and technical sides, and Hellospace is no exception. The important thing is that we solve these differences and different opinions in a constructive way. Remember, people make mistakes, blaming each other doesn’t take us anywhere. Instead, focus on helping solve problems and learning from mistakes. Cultural harmony and communication are key to us, but its definition is as wide as the sky. We strive for diversity because power is equal.
